CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION
“The children of today will make the India of
tomorrow”.
The Finesse of these words spoken by Shri Jawaharlal
Nehru (lovingly known as Chacha Nehru), whose birthday is a
celebration of the innocence, exuberance and purity of our
children in India. On November 14th, the portals and
corridors of Trinity Central School, reverberated with the
shouts of joy, peals of laughter and the artistry of
hundreds of smiles.
The day’s festivities began with the school assembly, fore
fronted by the teachers. Ms. Deepthi, along with Ms. Jesslin
at the keyboard, lead the Trinity family into prayer, with
the hymn, “Give me oil in my lamp”. Ms Steffi presented the
thought for the day – in the words of Swami Vivekananda –
“Take risks in life. If you win, you can lead; If you lose,
you can guide”. The programme continued with Ms. Jayanthi
articulating a speech on the importance and significance of
Children’s Day. Prior to that Ms. Mayuri conducted a fun GK
Quiz for the children.
Later the charismatic presence of Mr. Shreyas Kotian, III
year BA student of MGM college and Anchor of Udupi TV, was
an added enjoyable moment. Mr. Shreyas in his brief
interaction with our students invited them to dream and to
pursue those dreams with utmost zeal, determination and
passion. Our Principal, Fr. Anil D’Costa felicitated Mr.
Shreyas with a memento as a token of our love and
appreciation.
“The world is a stage, the stage is a world of
entertainment”, says Howard Diet.
Amidst a colourful backdrop and shimmering sun, our talented
teachers multiplied the smiles and added to the infinite
cheers with some incredible performances. Dressed in
glamorous navy blue lehenga outfits, Ms. Sharon DSouza and
her group danced to the beats of Gujarathi western folklore
of “Chogada Tara”.
Ms. Avelyn our gifted guitarist accompanied by the melodious
voices of our teachers sang a beautiful medley of originally
narrated songs by the teachers themselves.
After this mellifluous performance, it was time for laughter
and a trip down memory lane, with the presentation of a
musical skit by Ms. Sukitha and her team. Dressed in white
and black and the hair in two ponies- the teachers revisited
the actual days of the “real school days” of yore. Children
also too had fun, as the musical skit was funny and had some
of their favourite tunes.
“You are our assets, our precious gems of Trinity Central
School” were the first words of love bespoken, as our dear
Principal – Fr. Anil D’Costa addressed our students.
Thereafter he conveyed his best wishes and blessings to all.
The whole programme was compered by Ms. Deepthi Bhat.
Teachers conducted fun games in their respective classrooms
for their students. Students enjoyed a scrumptious meal,
arranged by our Administrator Fr. Ravi Rajesh Serrao.
Overall, children’s day was celebrated with much pomp and
gaiety and was thoroughly enjoyed by the students. To close,
“children are the best creation of God, they spread joy in
every season.”
