DECENNIAL ANNUAL SPORTS MEET - 2018
As it is rightly said, “Winning is not everything but wanting to win is”, the most awaited Decennial Annual Sports meet was held on Thursday, the 23rd November, 2018 for the students of Grade III to X on the grounds of Trinity Central School.

The formal programme commenced with a prayer song seeking God’s blessings on all the participants, after which welcome note was delivered by Master Aaron from Grade X.

The Chief Guest for the sports meet were Mr. Raymond D’Souza (Mr. World 1990 in the Body Building Championship) and Dr. Deepak Ram Bairy (Physical Education Director, Sharada Pre-University College Udupi), Rev. Fr. Anil D’Costa (Principal), Rev. Fr. Ravi Rajesh (Treasurer & Administrator), Ms. Magdalena Lewis (Academic Co-Ordinator) & Ms. Archana Shetty (Pre-Primary Section Head) accompanied the dignitaries on the dais.

The event began by hoisting the school sports flag by Mr. Raymond D’Souza and thereafter by singing the school anthem by the school choir.

The Olympic torch which symbolizes the light of spirit, knowledge and life was carried in relay procession and was finally handed over to the sports minister Master Sandesh from Grade IX, who along with chief guests lighted the flame of peace and harmony on our school ground.

This was followed by a march past led by the SPL Master Gameliel and ASPL Melani, the units of cubs and bulbuls, scouts and guides and finally by five vibrant houses namely, Spoleto, Rivotorto, Assisi, Greccio and Laverna who stepped in unison and in discipline marching to the drum beats.

The Decennial sports meet was declared open by the chief guests as they released the balloons in the air. The Oath taking ceremony was led by the physical education teacher Mr. Shashikanth, in which the leaders along with their team mates pledged the oath.

This was followed by the speeches by the chief guests Mr. Raymond D’Souza and Dr. Ram Bairy who encouraged the students and wished them good luck. The formal programme concluded by words of gratitude from the principal Rev. Fr. Anil D’Costa.

The day’s events commenced with the 100 mtr track final for the senior boys and girls in which the winners were felicitated by the chief guests. It was followed by various other track events like 200 mtrs, 400 mtrs and 800 mtrs for Junior, Sub-Junior and Senior categories besides basket ball final match for boys and throw ball finals for girls. The relay race between the 5 houses for all categories viz sub-juniors, juniors and seniors was the most thrilling event of the day.

It was indeed an enjoyable day for all the sports lovers.
