PLASTIC FREE DRIVE
“A Nation that destroys its soil destroys itself”. To
safeguard our Mother Nature and to bring awareness to the
community and to ban the use of plastic, a ‘Plastic Free
Drive’ compaign was held at Trinity Central School on 10th
October, 2018.
The programme commenced with a prayer song to invoke God’s
blessings on all present. The Chief Guest for the day’s
programme was Mr. Shivattaya, Asst. Director, Mahatma Gandhi
National Rural Employment, Udupi District. Rev. Fr. Anil
D’costa (Principal), Rev. Fr. Ravi Rajesh (Administrator),
Ms. Magdelena Lewis (Academic Coordinator), Ms. Archana
Shetty (Pre Primary Section Head) were the dignitaries on
the dais, and the staff and students were present for the
programme.
A warm welcome to all the gathered was given by Clarissa of
Grade IX.
‘We humans have become selfish and dependent on plastic for
a range of uses from packing to finished products in the
markets. Reducing the use of plastic items and creating
awareness in the society is the only way to control the use
of plastic. So let’s take up the responsibility to start the
initiative from our homes to make a plastic free India’, was
the pledge of every Trinitarian.
To create an awareness in school and our society about the
harmful effects of plastic, the school has planned various
activities for the year 2018 - 19. Ms. Deepthi Bhat read the
report with activities planned for the year at school level
and society level.
-
Students will be educated on the use of plastic and
their harmful effects and maximum care will be taken to
reduce plastic.
-
Students are also prepared to perform street play and
awareness programme on the theme which will be presented
in the public places.
-
Various exhibitions will be conducted to avoid plastic
and to showcase alternate products.
-
An appeal will be filed to the DC of Udupi to take
stringent action in banning plastic and strict action
against those who violated the law.
On this occasion strong message to ban the use of plastic
was enacted through a skit by the students of Grade VII B by
asking the audience to save Earth and say No to plastic.
Our Chief Guest Mr. Shivattaya also spoke on the occasion
and appreciated the student’s efforts. Rev. Fr. Anil D’costa
also spoke a few words and thanked the Chief Guest for his
inspiring words and presented a memento on behalf of the
school. Cotton bag with school logo was distributed to the
