KANNADA RAJYOTSAVA CELEBRATIONS (01.11.2025)
“ಕನ್ನಡ ನಾಡು ನನ್ನ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಹೂ, ಅದರ ಪರಿಮಳವೇ ನನ್ನ ಗುರುತು.”

Living in a state that boasts of a rich potpourri of cultures, traditions, dialects and ethnicities, is the pride of every Kannadiga. Every acre of Karnataka, blossoms with hues of crimson red and yellow as Kannadigas raise their state flag with pride. Echoing similar sentiments, Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated with much fervour.

Compered by Ms Krupa of Grade 7 and Ms Iksha of Grade 4, the programme commenced with inviting the dignitaries to the dais. Gracing the occasion, as the Chief Guest was Ms Priya Furtado, President of the PTA. Joining her on stage were the Principal Fr Dominic Sunil Lobo, Vice Principal and Administrator Fr Amar Lobo, and Ms Magdalena Lewis, the Academic Co-ordinator.

After the prayer, the dignitaries inaugurated the programme with the traditional lighting of the lamp, which was followed by the singing of the State Anthem. Following on, in her speech, Ms Priya conveyed her sentiments of being a proud daughter of Karnataka, rooted truly to its culture, language and heritage, and encouraged all students to make every effort in embracing the state language. Ms Priya was then presented with a memento, as a gesture of kind gratitude.

Thereafter, the cultural programmes saw a colourful display of music, display and converse. Kick starting the cultural events were the junior danseuses who put up an energetic performance. Ms Jahnvi of Grade 9 spoke of the importance of Kannada, and of the day through an eloquent expression of verbose.

The song performance by the students was indeed wonderful, which was then succeeded by a dance performance by the high school students. A quick test of knowledge about Karnataka, was conducted by the high school students through an interactive quiz.

In his address to all Trinitarians, the Principal reiterated on the importance of maintaining the beauty and sanctity of the Kannada language, especially now where we see a lot of uneasiness in Indian several states with speaking the state language – be it of any state. He reminded us that while our mother tongue comes first and is to always be given first priority, next we need to pay attention to the Kannada language and learn it, since we live here. Even if one relocates from another state, he/she must make an effort to learn Kannada, as it will help them in the long run.

The comperes expressed their gratitude to all, which brought down the curtains to the event.
