International Yoga Day : Trinity Central school
“Yoga is not about touching your toes.
It is what you learn on the way down.”
The International Yoga Day was celebrated on June 21,
2023. Master Sheldon and Ms. Tanya from grade 8 hosted
the program .
The Lord’s prayer was Sung by the students of Grade 8.
Ms Sarah sajid of grade 8 welcomed the gathering.
The Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Sunil Lobo, Vice
Principal and administrator Rev. Fr. Ravi Rajesh Serrao,
PTA president Mr Srinivas, academic coordinator Ms.
Magdalena Lewis were present on the Dias.The guest Ms
Akhila was felicitated by the principal on this
occasion.
Further the importance of the day was articulated by
Grade 8 students through a speech in which the uses, the
functions and the results of practicing yoga were
highlighted.
Few asanas were performed by the students of grade 8
while highlighting their importance through commentary.
Yoga sessions for grades 5 and 6 were conducted by Ms
Akhila Smith Shetty in the morning. For grades 7 and 8
demonstration of yoga done by Ms Shyamala and Ms Basamma
from Pathanjali yoga prathistana karamballi branch. Ms
Sunitha Naik ,yoga instructor from Art of living
conducted the session for grade 9 and 10.
In his message, the principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Sunil
Lobo highlighted the need of yoga and asked the students
to implement the practice of yoga in their daily
routine.on the occasion students were guided by grade 8
teachers.
The curtain was drawn to the Yoga Day celebration by
chanting yoga mantra and thereafter everyone joined the
chorus in singing the school Anthem.
