REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS AT TRINITY CENTRAL SCHOOL
As the cold breeze wafted across a sky dressed in the warmth
of yellow, and sequinned in white, mellifluous patriotic
voices filled the air. Today, we celebrate our 73rd Republic
Day - a day embedded in the lives of every Indian citizen
reminding them of the responsibility towards their nation,
and to live in secular and democratic equality, solidarity,
justice and liberty.
As the clock struck 0900 hours, teachers led by our
Principal Rev. Fr. Anil D’Costa gathered at the school
grounds to pay their patriotic obeisance, in commemoration
of this wonderful day. Fr. Anil D’Costa hoisted the flag.
With hands raised in salutations, rich tributes were paid
with the rendition of the National Anthem and ‘Vijay Vishwa
Tirangaa Pyaara’.
In his address to the gathering , Fr. Anil conveyed the need
for one to wholly understand the importance of this day. He
iterated on how, we as Indians must always remind ourselves
and our brethren on the principles laid down in the Preamble
of the Constitution of India. A notable mention that was
also conveyed was that, the Indian Constitution which was
adopted in 1949, and came into existence in 1950 is the
world’s lengthiest constitution. Fr. Anil also offered words
of gratitude to the sacrifices, sweat and brow of our
freedom fighters and to all those who rendered their
valuable service to the glory of India.
