Swachata Pakhwada - A cleanliness drive by students at
Trinity Central school
"Stay neat! Choose to clean every day for better health and
happiness"
As per the directive of the government of India, September
1st to 15th has been dedicated for cleanliness, sanitation
and hygiene drive in order to promote awareness towards
Garbage Free India.
Under this directive, our school enthusiastically organized
various activities for the realisation of the programme.
On 2nd September, a Swachhata Shapath ceremony was organized
in accordance with the suggested action plan for Swachhata
Pakhwada (1st – 15th September) wherein a pledge was taken
by all the members incorporated in the school. The oath was
to commit time towards cleanliness and initiate the quest
for cleanliness among the students. The whole message was in
action for anticipating cleanliness and hygiene.
During the campaign a paper was presented during school
parliament on the topic of maintenance of cleanliness in the
school campus and surroundings.
A seminar on 'save water, save life' by eminent
environmentalist Mr.Joseph M Rebello was also held as part
of Swachata Pakhwada campaign.The resource person
highlighted about conservation of water by rain harvesting
along with various illustrations.
Community outreach day - our school students, staff
participated in a cleaning drive program along with the
Parent teacher association at KSRTC bus stop, Udupi. All the
members of PTA as well as newly appointed president of Udupi
municipal council Mr Prabhakar Poojary, vice- president Mrs
Rajani Hebbar and other members of municipal council, along
with principal Fr.Dominic Sunil Lobo, vice principal Fr.Ravi
Rajesh Serrao and teachers of grade 9 actively participated
in cleaning drive. The surroundings were cleansed and an
order was restored in the vicinity. Indeed the ‘Cleaning
Mission’ in public area inspired all the students as they
enthusiastically participated in the cleaning drive program
by raising slogans as well as holding the placards. More
than 100 students participated in the campaign.
