Deepawali Celebrations
at Trinity Central School
The joyous festival of Deepawali, the festival of lights was
celebrated in portals of the Trinitorium on 21st October
2022 at Trinity Central School.
Our Principal, Rev. Fr. Sunil Dominic Lobo and Vice-
Prinicipal, Rev. Fr. Ravi Rajesh Serrao welcomed the
honourable chief guests, Mr. Krishna Sridharan, the PTA
president and Mr. Sudhakar Prabhu, the PTA member
respectively with a floral bouquet.
The programme commenced with the pious and traditional
lighting of the lamp by our Principal, Vice-Principal,
Academic Coordinator and the chief guests. To the melodious
tune of the flute played by Shravan of Grade 7, Trinity’s
class representatives lit the diyas and beautifully laid
them on the borders of the vibrant and colourful floral
rangoli.
The cultural programme, began with the articulate note by
children, who spoke about the scientific reasons behind the
different rituals performed during Deepawali festival.
Children of Grade 6 to 9 expressed their sentiments of the
festival through a melodious song.
Children played a skit about the origin and significance of
Deepawali which showcased how the festival was celebrated in
the past with its true meaning where all the members of the
family would together contribute to the festivity with
thorough preparedness. It also showcased the modern day
celebrations where people at home realize the festival only
when someone messages them. People need to be with friends
and family rather than spending time on their mobile phones
to build good relationships was the message of the event.
Children also danced blissfully with joy to the tunes of
“Aayo re shubh dina aayo re” wearing beautiful ghagras. It
was truly happy sight to see them dance with grace.
On the occasion, our Principal narrated the verses, “
Asathoma Sadhgamaya, tamasoma jyothir gamaya, mruthyorma
amratham gamaya”. He inferred that like the light of lamps
which spreads brightness everywhere, we should enlighten our
lives with knowledge, by inculcating and applying good
values and discipline in our conduct and character.
Nishka of Grade 9 hosted the event. The programme came to a
close with the rendition of the School Anthem.
