Diwali Celebration
‘Diwali – the festival of lights’, is celebrated all
over India in order to welcome Rama after his victory over
Ravana. The whole school wore a festive look with diyas,
crafts and colours of Rangoli.
The tiny Trinitarians from Nursery, LKG and UKG, exercised
their little fingers with clay diyas, which was a feast to
the viewers. Meanwhile, the expressive Grade 1 to 5 students
exhibited their talents in craft with awesome varieties. The
colours of Rangoli filled the hall as the students of Grade
6 to 10 displayed their artistic Rangolies.
Fun and frolic was part of Diwali celebration, when our
girls of Grade 8, 9 and 10 went on a ramp dropped in saries.
It was fun to watch our boys tail the elephant blind folded
which made some wonders, if the elephant would forget where
its original tail was.
A cultural program was arranged in the afternoon. The
correspondent of the school Rev. Fr. Claud Mascarenhas lit
the lamp to begin the celebrations, meanwhile the teachers
lit the diyas symbolizing light through enlightenment
through knowledge. The students of Grade 1 and 2 presented
an action song. The girls of Grade 8 and 9 voiced their
Diwali message through a song. The students showcased the
spirit of Diwali through a mesmerizing dance performance.
Rev. Fr. Claud Mascarenhas gave his beautiful message on the
occasion. He spoke about the significance of Diwali and how
good always conquered evil. The students performed a
meaningful skit on ‘Green Diwali without Crackers’.
The program concluded as students and teachers wished each
other peace, happiness and prosperity on the occasion of
Diwali.
