EXCITING EDUCATIONAL TRIP FOR SECONDARY STUDENTS
VISIT TO PILIKULA SCIENCE CENTRE
Students of Grade 6 set out on their educational trip to
Pilikula Science Centre on Friday, 26th October 2018.
An enthusiastic set of students along with two accompanying
teachers were eager to explore the Science Centre where they
witnessed different scientific models, in depth experiments
and had first hard experience of many scientific activities.
It was amazing learning experience for the students as they
went around the science centre, which had interactive
science exhibits and many learning activities.
In the afternoon students rested a while, had their lunch
and played in the science park in the lush green garden area
and then headed back to school. It was indeed a fun filled
and educative excursion.
VISIT TO A HISTORIC CITY – BARKUR
On Friday, 26th October an energetic ball of 62 students of
Grade 7 along with their 2 teachers set on their journey
from the Trinity campus on two school buses for Barkur a
temple town.
The buses reached the first destination Katthale Basadi by
9.45 am. The students observed the architecture and its
structures. They also studied the inscriptions on the
pillars. Next, they visited Sree Krishna Packaging
Industries and with great interest learnt how the packaging
boxes are manufactured.
Students also visited a dairy farm and machinery used for
milking. The next destination was the Panchalingeshwara
temple known to be one of the oldest temples in the
vicinity. The students were briefed on its historical
importance. Later the students visited St. Peter’s church
and the Barkur Jumma Masjid.
Students were then taken to the Kulamahastri temple where
they had lunch and relaxed for a while at the garden and
then left to Batte Vinayaka Pond, which is believed to have
a chariot of the Mahabharatha period.
Students explored and enjoyed many places at Barkur and
returned to Trinity campus by 3.10 pm. It was a memorable
and fun filled trip.
VISIT TO MANGALURU, GATEWAY OF KARNATAKA – GRADE 8
Students of grade 8 went on an educational trip to the
chief port city of the state of Karnataka, Mangaluru on 23rd
October 2018. They started from the campus at 9.15am and
arrived Pilikula Nisargadhama at 11.20am.
Pilikula Nisargadhama is a major eco education and tourism
development project promoted by the District Administration
of Dakshina Kannada. At their theme based park with a wide
variety of features with many attractions of cultural,
educational and scientific interest. Students explored the
Artisans Village with inquistince minds.
The Artisan Village complex has been recreated the typical
rural atmosphere of Dakshina Kannada. It included the
exhibits like Guthn House, the carpentry, poltary making
etc. From there the students headed towards Kadri Park for a
short lunch break and took a relaxing walk around the park
and later moved towards the St. Aloysius Chapel, very well
known for its frescos on the walls of the chapel.
We also visited the new swimming pool constructed at the
campus which was soothing to the eyes.
From there we headed towards our buses boarded them and
reached Trinity Central School at 3.40 pm.
It was an enjoyable and a fun filled day out with our
teachers and friends.
EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO PANDYA NAGARI KNOWN AS KARIKALLU BY
GRADE 9 STUDENTS
A visit to Pandya Nagari (Karikallu) by Ggrade 9 students of
Trinity Central school. Students of grade 9 set out their
educational trip on 23rd October 2018. They started off to
the Soans Farm at Karkala, to a world of horticulture and
biological diversity exotic fruits, nursery plants, species,
fruit juice and farm town and farm stay at Bannadka.
Then we moved we moved to the Saavira Kambada Basadi, a Jain
Temple, built in the name of Jain Tirtankara Chandraprabha.
Saavira Kambada Basadi temple is also known as Tribhuvana
Tilaka Chudamani or Jain Temple noted for its 100 pillars in
Moodabidri, Karnataka. The temple is known as a Chandranatha
temple, where an eight foot idol is worshipped in the shrine
“Giving Butterflee” a chance to live.
Students then visited the butterfly park, at Beluvai,
dedicated to Dr. Late Shri Sadashiva A Shetty a Southern
Bird Wing is the largest butterfly of our country India and
it is also the state butterfly of Karnataka, the host plants
of the various butterflies. Another of its unique kind is
the Buddha peacock which is also known as Malabar banded
butterfly which is only found in the Western Ghats. We also
learnt the importance of the butterflies and the major
threat and the destruction of these beautiful creatures are
the habitat destruction and forest fire.
We now moved on to our last destination of the day was the
statue of Gomateshwara amd Koti-Chennaya Theme Park.
Brahmayaksha Mana Stamba was build in 29/2/1436 which of 25
ft. height. And the statue of Gomateshwara was built in
13/2/1432 which is 42 feet height. At the Koti-Chennaya park
were the famous statue of the two great brothers i.e. Koti
and Chennaya. Ancient antique precious and famous paintings
of their times were exhibited.
It was a good exposure for the students to learn about the
culture, material and their ancient wealth.
