Inaugural ceremony of Bunnies.
As part of our continuous efforts to help a child achieve
holistic development, we, at Trinity Central School are
happy to introduce ‘Bunnies’ a wing of Bharat Scouts and
Guides. The inaugural ceremony of ‘The Bunny Movement’ for
Kindergartners was held on 21 June 2024 at Trinity Central
School. The Bunny Movement is part of the Scouts and Guides
programmed for children between the age group of 3 to 6
years and was initiated by Mrs. Lakshmi Mazumdar, the former
National Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides during the
‘International Year of the Child’. The Bunny Movement aims
at providing overall development of children. It also
cultivates habits of personal cleanliness by inculcating
good social manners. The motto of BUNNY MOVEMENT is ‘Keep
Smiling’.
The programme was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by the
Chief Guest Mrs. Sumangala Ganiga an experienced government
school teacher and a Bunny trainer at GLPS Kismathi school,
Byndoor. The Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Sunil Lobo, Vice
Principal Rev. Fr. Ravi Rajesh Serrao, Primary Section Head
Ms. Poornima Devadiga, and Pre-Primary Section Head Ms.
Renita Monteiro also joined in lighting the lamp.
The Chief Guest inspired the students with an action song
‘Where is thumbkin?’and also showed some Yoga postures
signifying International Yoga Day. Some asanas like
Vajrasana, Vrikshasana, Simhasana etc. were taught where the
little bunnies also accompanied her, doing the same. The
bunny aunties explained the Bunny Law, and the bunny salute
of the Bunny Movement. They were taught the bunny song
“Blinking blinking red little eyes , we are the bunnies very
nice”. The Principal greeted the little bunnies and he asked
the little bunnies to follow the motto “Keep Smiling” and
told them to be as active, smart and quick as bunnies. He
also showed them the real bunnies. The children were
overjoyed to see them. Our little Bunnies were looking smart
with the bunny apron. The little Bunnies gave the bunny
salute at the command given by bunny aunty Ms. Anne Norris .
Cute 181 Bunnies participated actively in this programme
full of mirth and energy.
The programme was compered by Ms. Vidyalaxmi Bhat. Ms. Anne
Norris welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief
guest. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Steffi
Saldanha.
