‘A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of
its people’ says Mahatma Gandhi.
An inter school AICS Cultural Competition was orgianised for
the junior and senior level - Magnum Opus 2018 at Trinity
Central School on 7/7/2018.
The protection of intangible cultural heritage and
maintaining the continuity of national culture is very
requisite in the present world. And this was the very motive
to host such a prosperous event.
The formal inauguration of the ‘Magnum Opus 2018’ was
presided over by the Chief Guest Mrs. Jessy Andrews, the
Principal of Madhava Kripa School, Manipal; our PTA

The programme commenced with the prayer song by the choir of
the Trinity School followed by the welcome speech delivered
by the Academic Co-ordinator Mrs. Magdelina Lewis who
cheered and welcomed the gathering.
Life becomes a festival when gaiety and culture blend
together. It was an honor and moment of pride as our guest
Mrs. Jessy Andrews inaugurated the AICS Cultural Competition
2018 by unfurling the logo of the event. The chief guest
Mrs. Andrew encouraged the students by her inspiring speech.
Principal Rev. Fr. Anil D’Costa also addressed the gathering
by welcoming the students and staff of the surrounding
schools of Udupi District and asking them to feel homely at
Trinity. Students and Teachers from all over the Udupi
District were present for the competitions. We had teamwork
and versatile judges amidst us. One among them was Mrs.
Joylene Gonsalves, the winner of Gulf Voice of Mangaluru
2016.
The event started soon after the inauguration as the student
volunteers from Trinity escorted the students and the judges
to their venue.
Various competitions such as Mask Making, Origami, Fusion
Dance, Advertising, Folk Song, Food Art, Paper Quilling,
Classical Dance, Impromptu Acting and Duet Song were
organized to encourage the young talents.
After the sumptuous lunch in the afternoon students and
teachers from various schools showed their talents by
performing live dances and singing performances till the
results were getting finalized by the judges.
The event concluded with valedictory programme where in the
winners were felicitated and congratulated. We had on stage
Rev. Fr. Claud Mascarenhas the Correspondent of Trinity
Campus, Principal Rev. Fr. Anil D’Costa, Administrator Rev.
Fr. Ravi Rajesh Serrao, Our Academic Co-coordinator Mrs.
Magdelina Lewis and Pre-primary Section Head, Mrs. Archana
Shetty to do the honors. The awarding ceremony was the
celebration of talent and hard work of students and
teachers.
Finally our Principal gave a vote of thanks and concluded
this formal function with national Anthem. It was a
wonderful day with brilliant performance of dance, music and

different schools.
