Patron’s Day celebration at Trinity Central School
All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of
a single candle. – St Francis of Assisi.
The patron’s day to commemorate the feast day of our patron
saint, St Francis of Assisi was celebrated on 14th of
October 2022. The Trinity family expressed gratitude to its
patron saint for all the bountiful blessings bestowed upon
them.
The program began with the solemn thanksgiving mass. All the
catholic students attended the holy thanksgiving mass and
wholeheartedly thanked and praised God. Rev. Fr Lenson Lobo
the chief guest of the occasion was the main celebrant of
the mass. Rev. Fr Dominic Sunil Lobo, the principal, Rev. Fr
Ravi Rajesh Serrao, the vice principal and Rev. Fr Cyril
Roshan Menezes concelebrated in the Eucharistic celebration.
After the mass all the students gathered for a formal
patron’s day program. Rev. Fr Lenson Lobo was the chief
guest of the program. The principal Rev. Fr Sunil Dominic
Lobo, vice principal Rev. Fr Ravi Rajesh Serrao, Rev. Fr
Cyril Roshan Menezes and academic co-ordinator Ms Magdalina
Lewis were present on the dais.
The program began with a beautiful Franciscan hymn sung by
the choir group. All the dignitaries on the dais ignited the
lamp and inaugurated the program. Ronan of grade 5B welcomed
the gathering. Aaron Mendonca of grade 9 enlightened all
about the extraordinary life of St Francis of Assisi. The
students portrayed a skit depicting the major incidents in
the life of St Francis of Assisi.
St Francis of Assisi renounced worldly goods and family ties
to embrace a life of poverty. Francis of Assisi was poor
only that he might be Christ-like. He recognized creation as
another manifestation of the beauty of God and for which in
1979, he was named patron of ecology. To evoke the love of
St Francis of Assisi towards nature, the girls of Grade 3
performed a wonderful dance about saving the nature. Brendan
Cardoza of Grade 4 expressed his views about love for
animals.
Rev. Fr Lenson Lobo the chief guest spoke a few words about
St Francis of Assisi’s humbleness, extraordinary kindness
and love for humanity. He asked the students to adapt at
least some qualities of the patron saint and inculcate them
in their day to day lives.
The principal Rev. Fr Dominic Sunil Lobo also shared his
views on the occasion. He wished everyone a happy patron’s
day and prayed for the choicest blessings from the patron.
Iman of grade 9 delivered the vote of thanks. Carin Cardoza
of grade 9 hosted the program.
A special festal lunch was provided to all the students.
