Seminar on ‘Poetry’
“Poertry : the best words in the best order.”
A seminar on the topic, ‘Poetry, a discussion’ was
organised for all the language teachers. Mr. Vishnu Murthy
Prabhu, asst professor of Government First Grade college,
Udupi was the resource person.
Mr. Vishnu Murthy Prabhu stated that humans learnt languages
through poems.
He explained the elements of poetry and the chief concerns
of poetry. He enunciated that poetry is the best way to
bring out the hidden talents of the students. It soothens
one’s mind and soul. He propounded that poetry can be taught
in a very creative manner and suggested certain methods to
teach poetry in the classroom. He discussed major parts of
the poems with many examples. Ms. Volita Lewis welcomed the
guest while Ms. Ramitha Anchan thanked the gathering. Rev.
Fr Anil Dcosta, the principal, Ms. Magdalina Lewis, the
academic co-ordinator and all the language teachers were
present for the session.
