TRINITY CELEBRATES THE OCTOCENTENARY OF ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI - 800 YEARS OF LIGHT
Trinity School joyfully celebrated the
800th death Anniversary of our beloved Patron, St.
Francis of Assisi, on 9th October 2026. The sacred day
began with a Holy Mass for Catholic students, seeking
the blessings of the Almighty on this momentous
occasion.
The formal celebration was held in the august presence
of our Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Vishal Lobo, Parish Priest,
Lady of Fatima Church, Perampalli, President Rev. Fr.
Manohar D'Souza, Guardian, Trinity Vihar, Principal Rev.
Fr. Dominic Sunil Lobo and Vice Principal Rev. Fr. Amar
Antony Lobo. The occasion was further graced by our
Academic Coordinator Ms. Magdelina Lewis, Pre-Primary
Section Head Ms. Renita Monteiro, Primary Section Head
Ms. Poornima Devadiga.
The programme, ably compered by Shreyal and Manaswi of
Grade 6, commenced with a soulful prayer followed by a
warm welcome by Evangeline of Grade 5. In a deeply
symbolic gesture - as the white flower bloomed, it
revealed the spirit of St. Francis, marking an
auspicious beginning to the celebration. The Chief Guest
was then introduced by Ms. Preetha Furtado, after which
Rev. Fr. Dominic Sunil Lobo and other dignitaries
felicitated the chief guest. Rev. Fr. Vishal Lobo
addressed the gathering with his words of wisdom,
followed by an insightful presidential address by Rev.
Fr. Manohar D'Souza.
It was a moment of pride when Ms. Sharon read out the
names of our handball achievers and Ms. Preetha Furtado
announced the names of the students who had generously
donated books to the library on their birthdays, who
honoured by all the dignitaries on the dais amidst
thunderous applause. The formal ceremony concluded with
a heartfelt Vote of Thanks proposed by Ms. Siona of
Grade 7.
The cultural programme, hosted by Gloria, Amoolya Sara
and Praneetha of Grade 5, was a vibrant tribute to our
Patron. The tiny tots of the KG section mesmerized all
with their graceful dance on 'Heal the World', followed
by confident speeches by our youngest orators from UKG
Jude Jacob and Aroohiya. The soulful group song and the
powerful dance. 'The Last Breath' by our senior students
conveyed the urgent need to protect our planet. An
inspiring speech by Samantha of Grade 9 and a moving
skit on the life of St. Francis added depth to the
celebration. The highlight of the day was the energetic
Teachers' dance and the melodious Teachers' singing
performances.
The celebration reached its pinnacle with a thoughtful
message from our Principal, Rev. Fr. Dominic Sunil Lobo,
who urged everyone to carry the Franciscan values of
peace, love and harmony into everyday life. It was
indeed a celebration where simplicity inspired
greatness.
