Celebrating Vanamahotsava & 800 Anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi

On July 4th we celebrated Vanamahotsava along with the 800th Anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi- the Patron Saint of Ecology in a celebration rooted in faith, reverence, and responsibility towards creation. Mr. Jeeth Milan Roche, popularly known as The Tree Man of Mangaluru and renowned environmentalist and social entrepreneur, was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Gracing him on the dais was Mr. Ganesh, Environmental Officer, Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Sunil Lobo, Academic Coordinator and Section Heads.

The programme commenced with prayer, followed by welcome speech by Sweenal Pinto of grade 4A. The ceremonial planting of a sapling by the dignitaries took place symbolically. Students from each class also placed a potted plant near the dais. Environmental Pledge was led by Kaira of Grade 4C.

In his keynote address, Mr. Roche, urged students to be mindful caretakers of God's creation. A cultural programme included a graceful dance, a devotional hymn to St. Francis, a compelling street play on environmental awareness, and an eloquent speech on the life of St. Francis by Thashvi, Grade 4C. The Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Sunil Lobo, called upon all students to embrace simplicity, compassion, and ecological responsibility. The vote of thanks was given by Lenston of Grade 4A.

This celebration was more than an event. It was a reminder that to protect nature is to honour the sacred. At Trinity, we continue to cultivate minds and hearts that lead with love, respect, and care for our common home.
